September 23, 2008 First Gastro-Cultural Euro Night A Great Success More than 20 European Union Member State Embassies participated in the very first Euro Night on Friday evening, September 19, at La Maison Francaise in the Embassy of France, the country currently holding the Presidency of the European Union. The Embassy of Hungary presented a cross section of English translations of modern Hungarian literature, history, paintings, art, tourism and, also, with a rich variety of traditional Hungarian dishes and new wines: Beef Stew with Mushroom and Parsley Potatoes; Layered Pasta á la Hortobágy with Sour Cream; Prune Stuffed Pork Loin with Cheese and Walnut Rice; red and white wines provided by Monarchia Wines. The one thousand strong Washington audience thoroughly enjoyed the European night of culture and gastronomy, sampling through the countries of the Old Continent.
